Habitat:

It is widely distributed in India, particularly in all but the most arid regions. Its natural range also includes Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia. However, it has been widely introduced and cultivated in other tropical and subtropical regions around the world, including parts of Africa, the Americas, and the Pacific Islands.

Flowering Season:

The flowering season typically occurs from March to April in many regions.

Fruiting Season:

The fruiting season generally occurs from May to June in many regions.

Climatic conditions :

It prefers warm, tropical and subtropical climates. The ideal temperature range is between 20-32°C (68-90°F). While it can tolerate temperatures as high as 48°C (118°F), it is sensitive to frost. It thrives in areas with an average annual rainfall between 1,500 and 6,000 mm (59-236 inches). High humidity is beneficial for the growth and fruiting.

Seed Propagation:

Grafting is the most widely used and successful method for its propagation. Layering is another viable option, particularly air layering, which can be used to propagate desirable branches.

Parts Used:

Fruits: The fruits are edible and used as a food source. They are rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, and other nutrients.

Seeds: The seeds are used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments, including diabetes, digestive issues, and respiratory problems.
