Habitat:

Found in North America, particularly in the northern United States and Canada. Grows in wet, boggy, or swampy areas and along the edges of rivers and lakes.

Flowering Season:

It produces cones, not flowers, and typically starts in spring, around April to May

Fruiting Season:

It typically produces its cones (fruits) in late summer to early fall, from August to September. 

Climatic Conditions: Prefers cool, temperate climates with high humidity and can withstand cold temperatures and snow.

 Propagation:

 Commonly propagated by seed, but can also be propagated via cuttings or layering.

Parts Used:

Leaves: Used for medicinal purposes, especially for their antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic properties.

Wood: Used in the construction of homes, fences, and for making shingles.

Bark: Sometimes used in herbal medicine for its purported health benefits.
